Why Consider Hypnotherapy?

If you have the desire but not the willpower to treat your problem, whether this might be an anxiety, fear, phobia, habit, addiction or just a feeling of low self esteem, hypnotherapy can help you to achieve positive results.

Most of us want to be in control of our lives to our best ability and often resent those weaknesses which hold us back in some way or make us feel dominated by them. This can take many forms from the urgency of having the next cigarette, a compulsion to shop, being terrified to get on a plane or just somehow unable to follow that routine to weight loss. At some time or another we may lose confidence just when we need to succeed and stress is often overlooked in our workplace and home life.

During hypnosis, the client is fully aware of what is happening. The therapist cannot make the client do anything against their will. Used properly, hypnosis is a highly effective treatment for addictions e.g. smoking, for phobias such as the fear of spiders or flying etc, for overcoming panic attacks and stress or for concentration problems, for example, when studying for exams. The treatment is also used for change in habits, e.g. weight loss and for self belief to improve performance in the sports arena or a business environment and very importantly teaching the client to enjoy total relaxation through self hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy can also be extremely effective in the treatment of some physical disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, warts, irritable bowel syndrome and many others. Hypnotherapy is also widely used in pain control, either by direct hypnosis for analgesia in dentistry or surgery, or by teaching the client self-hypnosis to help in controlling chronic pain like arthritis or migraine and in the alleviation of pain in terminally ill patients, allowing them to reduce the amount of drugs they need to take in order to keep the pain at bay.

Consultation Process

If you decide that you would like to experience hypnotherapy treatment, our first consultation will last for 1½ hours so that I can assess your problem thoroughly as well as begin treatment. If a subsequent treatment is necessary, the normal consultation time would be 1 hour.

All therapy is followed up by a telephone call to monitor your process and all treatment is carried out in strict confidence.
